Ever since the two world wars the United States has undoubtedly dominated the world. Even when it is election season in US people all around the world would know about it and participate in it to some extend. There is no doubt that whoever sits in the Oval office is going to influence on how the world runs. There are many countries like China, Russia, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and India who would want to reduce the influence of America in the world. But it does not seem like they are going to be successful for a long time. However, it would certainly not be false to say that the dominance of America on the world, especially on the world economy is not as strong as it was just a decade ago.

War has been one of the easiest ways US has used to display its power and this has also led to the economic downfall of America. The recent Economic depression has severely hurt the US economy. Again the saying that money has the last say has become true. Countries like China and India have been exposed to the American debt crisis; while this is certainly sad, I think that this is not going to be a regular feature and the US economy will once again be on the rise. Once that happens, the American influence over the world will get stronger again.

Barack Obama is the first black President of America. The joy of his and the country’s achievement was evident when the sales for his book ‘The audacity of Hope'skyrocketed and its cover was seen on every banner stand all around the world. Unfortunately, Barack Obama is also known as the weakest US president. Even the former vice president Dick Cheney criticized Obama for his failure to accept the fact that America was at war during the time when a passenger plane from Netherland to US was nearly bombed. Well, the elections are here again and let’s see if Obama will rule another term. Also, just for your information, Dick Cheney is not dead yet.

A few years ago, getting online took ages. You’d sit there and stare at the screen for as long as five minutes until, finally, an image appeared. And there you were, connected to the world wide web…libraries of information at your finger-tips, an infinite reserve of resources there for you. If you had the patience to sit there and wait for it to appear on your screen, that is…

Jump forward to the modern day and most contract phones have the capacity to access the internet from almost anywhere in the world.

Should we really be surprised, then, when we learn that the newspapers have been hacking certain peoples'mobile phones? If you ask me, no, and here’s why.

…have you ever thought about taking a more detailed look at your partners emails, even if it was for an innocent purpose such as seeing what they are getting you for Christmas?

1) The idea of online privacy faded away a while ago. Nowadays, privacy isn’t something anyone can expect if they use the internet. Facebook is a fine example of a resource which lays bare everything about you for the entire world to see. If you’re using Facebook, you’ve probably dropped by on someone’s profile and looked at their photos without actually asking them if that’s OK. Is there a huge difference when it comes to hacking email accounts and mobile phones? Maybe, but the gap is getting smaller all the time.

2) We buy more newspapers now than ever before, so the thirst for new information and scandal is clearly as great as ever. So should we really be surprised when sensitive information becomes public knowledge? After all, we’re the ones supplying the demand for it, right?

 3) Almost anyone out there could, if they wanted, hack into a certain website or voicemail account: many companies use special data management tools which are able to organise vast quantities of data, and there are web-sites which can enable you to connect with someone’s mobile phone, which then allows you to trace their movements. Really, the kind of technology which some of the newspapers have employed is little more than this.

4) Think about it: have you ever thought about taking a more detailed look at your partners emails, even if it was for an innocent purpose such as seeing what they are getting you for Christmas? If you have – if it’s even crossed your mind just once – then you know how tempting it can be to learn something you shouldn’t. Add millions of pounds and a wealth of competition into the mix and you have all the elements necessary for hacking to become just another usual thing which we really ought to almost expect.

Is it possible for a country in the modern world to rely completely on outsiders for its national infrastructure? The Afghanistan army and police force is being set up with the help of other countries? Well, such institutions invariably require a large amount of domestic support and respect. If they are set up with the help of foreign forces, the issue of pride and respect automatically takes a hit and becomes a problem.

Of course, Afghanistan is a special case which was ravished by the Taliban movement. The modern western world is of the opinion that the Taliban movement has been bad for the country. However, there is a lot of popularity for the Taliban movement in the rural parts of the country. In such a scenario, a police force and an army setup with the help of foreign assistance will be treated as an object of ridicule.

This only complicates the already complicated situation in Afghanistan. The economy is in desperate need of new jobs. India, Pakistan and Afghanistan happen to form the golden crescent of drug production. In such a scenario, there must be huge emphasis on establishment of schools and other civilian infrastructure to create jobs and prevent youngsters from becoming addicts.

To ensure that the population reaches modern levels, issues like special needs teaching jobs will also have to be addressed. After all, no society can survive for long effect if it focuses on the majority and ignores the marginalized minority. When all these issues are combined with the sensitivity of political factors involved, there is absolutely no scope for a productive and constructive way forward.

To fight and to continue old enmities can only work for so long. Even the western world is beginning to realize that they may have no option but to get along with the Taliban if they are not in a position to destroy the same.

Where, oh where, to begin with the recent riots – a sight so horrifying that when she saw it on the TV screen, even my nan, who has seen everything, said “I don’t believe it…well I never…I’ve never seen that.”

Usually I would laugh or make some smart comment loosely disguised as agreement. Not this time. Because what I saw on the screen before me genuinely shocked me.

I said shocked, not surprised. If there’s one thing I wasn’t it was that.

See, this has been coming for a long time. You can say that it’s the fault of fatherless children, as the Prime Minister so boldly stated, but isn’t that a cop out? To my mind, this was in the water years ago. After all, we live in a culture which is obsessed with fashion and having the latest gadgets. So when people saw that they too could have access to the latest gadgets and get away with it, it wasn’t surprising that they jumped at the chance.

here has been the general conclusion that funding being cut in the youth sector was a bad idea

A friend of mine, who works in a particular HR Software firm which was very badly affected by the riots, said that he feared for his life when the rioters attacked the building he has worked in for ten years. And this isn’t like him. This is a man who knows how to defend himself, too. The only conclusion I can come to is that being trapped inside that place while it came under attack was no different from being inside a devastated war-zone.

And all the debates in the world won’t change that.

Mind you, some good has come from this. For example, there has been the general conclusion that funding being cut in the youth sector was a bad idea. Another is that the youth of today have been bombarded with so many mixed messages that they can’t fail to be confused, and that this confusion is bound to manifest itself as violence at some point.

One thing we all must remember is that we are all responsible for playing our part in the futures of the youth. Let’s remember that we are the adults with some insight, so it really is up to us to show them the way and make sure they don’t go off the rails again.

Naturally, it would be wrong to assume that because the riots are over, the problem is solved. That by far isn’t the case, and it’s a fact which the Prime Minister needs to come face to face with if he’s ever to win over the coming generations.

Over the last couple of weeks, it’s been incredible to see the change of heart among members of the British establishment. People who some five weeks ago were attending Rupert Murdoch’s garden parties - including the Prime Minister, David Cameron, and the Labour leader of the opposition Ed Milliband - have been lining up to have a pop at News International. Not that Murdoch and his company don’t deserve it - even before the latest revelations NI newspapers, the Sun and News of the World in particular, had been involved in some pretty disgusting acts, and the revelation that NOTW journalists had hacked the mobile phones of murdered children and dead servicemen and women takes this absolutely beyond the pale.
But what’s so odd about the whole affair is that, for the most part, people high up in politics new what these companies were like. I’m not saying that they knew about the hacking of phones of course - I’m absolutely convinced that they didn’t know. But they were responsible for their own actions in courting Murdoch, in kowtowing to the right-wing, pro-business agenda it was in News International’s corporate interests to pursue. And now we watch our political leaders lining up like personal injury lawyers after an accident at work, rushing to be the first to blame those responsible for you slipping on a recently cleaned floor. The fact is, we could all see the signs. We all read - at first or second hand - stories gained by phone hacking. And to blame it all on one man is ludicrous. Let’s grow up a bit, shall we?

Last week, while talking with a group of people I didn’t know particularly well, I found myself entering a landscape of conversation I wasn’t comfortable in at all: the conversation concerned the twin towers and 9/11 – nothing new – but very quickly started to go in a worrying direction.

It started with one person saying how they need to ban Burqa’s. It’s the only way, they said, that we will know what we are fighting. Then another person chimed in with the classic “obviously the twin towers fell down after being struck by a plane, God, why would you even question it?”

I badly wanted to say: “Um, because it was a tiny little plane and it flew into a gigantic building and apparently brought it down? Which would be the equivalent of me chucking a brick at a house and the whole thing collapsing.” I didn’t, of course. Apart from the fact that I didn’t want to stick around for long as I had a train to catch, there were too many points to bring up. I could have literally stood there for the rest of the week giving a speech and even after that there would have been the questions…

Obama has encountered a great number of challenges since he took office in January 2009, after having achieved the one of the best election results for a Democratic candidate in the last century. His biggest task has been the overhaul of the US health care system, which has been a longstanding issue in the country, dividing social conservatives and liberals. Former attempts by the former US President Bill Clinton to introduce a universal health care bill were defeated by intense campaigns by the Republican right, who viewed the concept of a nationalised system as a stepping stone to socialised medicine and the rationing of health care services. Obama’s new health care bill, Obamacare, doesn’t even come into fruition for a few more years, by which time any prospective Republican president would indefinitely repeal. The new bill will leave many millions of people in America without access to health care and has been regarded by many on the left as a mere ‘compromise'or a ‘sell-out'to the incredibly powerful insurance companies.

Meanwhile, the recent news regarding the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden, the most wanted enemy of the Western world, has been a source of relief for the Obama administration, having already suffered in some of the more recent polls (the capture of Bin Laden was also facilitated by the work of British Special Forces with raf insurance as well). Meanwhile, the economy is the next major milestone for his presidency, as is the issue of America’s high unemployment rate. The president made it quite clear during his inauguration speech that the country would be in for very tough times and this has evidently been the case.

Mr Brown said people had to be persuaded and encouraged by developing a momentum and a mood in which people could face the reality of the current economic climate.

The Democrat is having to face a $15.4 billion deficit and will attempt to reduce this by raising income tax, tax on vehicles and sales tax. He is quoted as saying that gathering support from Republican politicians for this measure has been about as successful as winning support for abortion from the Catholic community. He recently hosted a budget forum at the district of Riversdale, which is run by the Republican Bob Dutton. Brown had been in talks with a total of five Republicans before discussions collapsed, much to his dismay.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Los Alomitos, Troy Edgar, has made it clear that schools in Orange Country have become increasingly concerned about the impact of service cuts if the government does not extended taxes. He believes bringing educators into the debate could help generate a greater public awareness and bring the policy ’to the people’. However, it is noted that many people voted against Brown during 2010’s gubernatorial election’. Edgar believes he will have to face ’an uphill battle’, as the general impression amongst most residents of Orange County is that raising taxes is not the answer to state debts. They believe tax rises will make it more difficult for families to afford college fees, holidays in Hotels in Looe and energy costs.

A new player in the world of reality television has been polluting the airwaves for the last few weeks. Tool Academy involves some of the worst humans on the face of the planet living together and demonstrating how awful they are at life. The premise is that the girlfriends have nominated their respective partners for an academy where they are taught how to be better at being boyfriends – how to talk nicely, how to perform ordinary tasks together and how to behave in the manner of a gentleman. Most are dead-end cases who I wouldn’t task with mowing a lawn but some are well-intentioned.

The men were ostensibly lured there while under the impression that they were attending “lad academy” or something, which was a competition to see how much of a lad they could each be. The first show demonstrated some of the most awful behaviour and one of the lads/tools being unfaithful to his girlfriend whilst on a stag do type outing.

The girlfriends, normally present and part of many of the tasks, are just as bad if not worse. They’re horrendous orange creatures with peroxide blonde hair and shrill voices. They are like harpies and frankly deserve their terrible boyfriends. One couple in particular stands out in memory – a well meaning chap who just doesn’t know how to do it is relentlessly browbeaten by his terrible girlfriend. I felt a pang of sympathy for him as he was obviously actually quite nice, but this quickly faded into the standard reality TV indifference.

Thinking of taking a break in Florida, Sure, why not.
Staying in villas in Florida while on vacation is a pleasant alternative to staying in hotel rooms. Villas have more privacy and more room. They can also be more convenient than hotel rooms.

Travelers staying in villas will have private common areas where they can gather. These areas may include a living room, a family room, a dining room, a patio or a yard. Luxury villas may have private beaches or private pools.

Villas offer more room that hotel rooms. A group who rents a villa will have bedrooms, common areas indoors and space outside.

Groups or families who spend their vacations in villas will enjoy the convenience of having everyone together. Villas offer guests the convenience of a kitchen for storing food and preparing meals. The villa kitchen is accessible 24 hours a day. People who want something to eat late at night will not have to search for a restaurant or store that is open. Guests do not have to plan their meals to coincide with the hours a hotel is serving meals. People who are staying in villas can eat breakfast at 11:00 in the morning in their pajamas if they desire. Meals can be eaten in the villa instead of at restaurants.

There are villas for rent in different parts of Florida. Travelers can find villas near Disney World. There are villas near the beaches in Miami, Naples and Key West.

Vacationers who rent villas in Florida will enjoy the privacy, space and convenience.
