Last week, while talking with a group of people I didn’t know particularly well, I found myself entering a landscape of conversation I wasn’t comfortable in at all: the conversation concerned the twin towers and 9/11 – nothing new – but very quickly started to go in a worrying direction.

It started with one person saying how they need to ban Burqa’s. It’s the only way, they said, that we will know what we are fighting. Then another person chimed (more…)

Can Obama survive another term?

Obama has encountered a great number of challenges since he took office in January 2009, after having achieved the one of the best election results for a Democratic candidate in the last century. His biggest task has been the overhaul of the US health care system, which has been a longstanding issue in the country, dividing social conservatives and liberals.
