Last week, while talking with a group of people I didn’t know particularly well, I found myself entering a landscape of conversation I wasn’t comfortable in at all: the conversation concerned the twin towers and 9/11 – nothing new – but very quickly started to go in a worrying direction.

Obama has encountered a great number of challenges since he took office in January 2009, after having achieved the one of the best election results for a Democratic candidate in the last century. His biggest task has been the overhaul of the US health care system, which has been a longstanding issue in the country, dividing social conservatives and liberals.
